singer songwriter
Casson has sung her own songs at the piano since she was a teenager, and for her, it remains the most natural way to write.
Lyric led, with a gift for haunting melody, her songs range from satirical comment to torch-song ballad, her voice inviting comparison with Dory Previn, Blossom Dearie and Helen Reddy.
As well as singing alone at the piano, with her trio Premier Cru she has recorded several sessions for BBC Radio 2's NIGHTRIDE. She has sung in London and New York accompanied by John Jansson, and also as Sue Casson & The Brannick Academy with multi-instrumentalist Chris Brannick. Together they have recorded two CDs.

Always a sharp lyricist, it was her songs on the BBC's STOP THE WEEK and PICK OF THE WEEK that first brought her to a national audience, and Casson has contributed to radio shows including WORD OF MOUTH as well as performing a season of weekly spots on LBC. She has also enjoyed spells as MD for NEWSREVUE, and appeared alongside poet Simon Rae SINGING THE NEWS.
